About Ladybird Care Foundation Limited
Ladybird Care Foundation operates a unique Peer Mentor Program to support bereaved parents whose children have died at any age, from infancy to adulthood. Parent mentors, who are also bereaved parents who have walked this journey themselves previously, are trained and supervised by our team of bereavement care professionals and provide vital support and human connection (free of charge) to recently bereaved parents in their grief. Our mission is to provide hope for the future and pathways towards healing for families. The Ladybird Care Foundation was established in honour of one of the founding member's children, Emma Louise Pascoe, who tragically passed away at the age of 18. Passionate about improving bereavement care for families following the death of a child, Emma's Dad, Wayne, and four colleagues set about establishing a new charity. After four years of research and collaboration with the Social Work team at the QLD Children's Hospital, the Ladybird Care Foundation began its pilot program and now operates on a community-wide basis Nationally.
