Lamina Surgical is revolutionizing surgical care with our innovative CoronaBlade technology – a next-generation electrosurgical platform that addresses critical unmet needs in operating rooms worldwide. Our technology combines precision tissue dissection, integrated illumination, and dramatically reduced thermal spread to improve outcomes across multiple surgical specialties. Our flagship product, the CoronaBlade system, features proprietary blade insulation and edge design that enables precision dissection with lower power settings, significantly reducing surgical smoke and decreasing thermal spread by 2-5x compared to conventional electrosurgical tools. The integrated light source provides point-of-care illumination to improve visualization, while our non-conductive light retraction technology prevents arcing to surrounding tissues and devices. Founded in 2024 by medical device industry veterans Paul Davison and Jason Hegener, Lamina brings together decades of expertise from companies including Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, ConMed, Invuity, and ArthroCare. Our leadership team has successfully commercialized multiple groundbreaking surgical technologies, including the RF PlasmaBlade™ and PhotonBlade systems. We're currently advancing our technology through rigorous R&D and preclinical validation, with targeted FDA clearance in 2026 and commercial launch in 2027.
