The Law Officers' Department, Jersey: - provides legal advice to the Government, States Assembly and the Crown; - provides the independent public prosecution service for the Island; - protects the interests of the Crown and the Government in civil proceedings; - helps to safeguard children and adults at risk; - enables the forfeiture and confiscation of the proceeds of crime; - assists overseas law enforcement agencies and; - carries out the statutory and customary law duties of the Attorney General.
