About Lawyers for Animal Protection in Africa (LAPA)

We are a non-profit organisation composed of lawyers passionate about the protection of animals. We have a common mission of changing hearts, minds and laws to protect the interests and advance the wellbeing of animals in Africa. There is currently no Africa-wide organisation for animal law, no means for those interested in to access the subject, connect with each other and learn more. LAPA fills these gaps We use three key pillars to achieve our vision: Advocacy, Education and Research and Consultancy. We envisage an Africa where animals are respected and protected in the legal system. We wish to make animal law accessible and create a continent-wide network of interested persons and a platform for protection efforts to materialise into real change.
