About LEADER Hageland+ vzw

LEADER stands for "Liaison Entre Actions de Développement de l'Economie Rurale". Freely translated, it means "Working towards a dynamic and liveable countryside". LEADER is a European subsidy programme for rural development, within which local actors (municipalities, CPASs, NPOs, umbrella organisations, etc.) can apply for subsidies for projects supporting the needs of their own rural region. The rural area "Hageland+" has been recognised as a LEADER area for a third period (2023-2027). LEADERwerking Hageland+ is a non-profit organisation that receives funds from the province of Flemish Brabant, the Flemish Region and the European Union. We use these funds to support rural initiatives in the rural area 'Hageland', which can receive up to 60% co-funding. The main task of LEADER-werking Hageland+ is to support the sustainable development of the area Hageland by investing in the local community, stimulating the rural economy and providing financial support to projects and initiatives that are in line with the Local Development Strategy (LOS) for the region. Rural projects are eligible if they fit within one of the strategic objectives below: - "vibrant and liveable villages" - "innovation and sustainable local agricultural production and marketing, and valorisation of biomass residues" - "biodiversity and landscape quality"
