About LEDO Kenya

LEDO Kenya (Lokichoggio Emuriakin Development Organization) is a grassroots community-based organization based in Turkana County, Kenya. We believe dignity, unity, and locally owned solutions are the keys to lasting transformation. Since 2011, LEDO has worked alongside communities to improve access to quality education, sustainable livelihoods, and basic infrastructure, especially in remote and underserved areas. Our flagship initiative began with building Hannah Emuriakin Primary School, where learners once studied under trees and in manyattas. Today, through bold community models like our Goats-for-Classrooms initiative, we match parental contributions with support to build classrooms and sanitation facilities, giving children a safe, dignified place to learn. Every LEDO project is co-created with the people it serves, from boreholes, pit latrines, and classrooms to greenhouse farming, poultry rearing, and youth training. We exist to restore dignity, nurture potential, and raise futures—one village, one classroom, one family at a time.
