About Licensed Clinical Counselors of North Carolina (LCCNC)
LCCNC is the only statewide professional association in North Carolina solely dedicated to supporting Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors. Born from grassroots advocacy and unmet professional needs, LCCNC was founded in 1995 by a small group of dedicated counselors committed to advancing the profession. Their goal was clear: to ensure recognition, professional development, and legislative advocacy for licensed counselors across the state. Since its incorporation as a nonprofit in 2005, LCCNC has remained grounded in its core values—broad and inclusive membership, ongoing education, meaningful communication, and policy advocacy. We continue to serve counselors working across diverse settings, championing their voice in the broader mental health landscape of North Carolina. We are proud to be a professional home for those shaping the future of mental health care—through connection, leadership, and dedication to the counseling profession.
