About Life Shelf

The Life Shelf was born from a truth I witnessed firsthand: most families are unprepared for life’s major transitions. Not because they don’t care, but because the emotional and logistical weight of preparing for “what’s next” can feel overwhelming. My background spans product management, change leadership, ergonomics, and human-centered design. But the most defining chapter of my life came when I supported a close friend through late-stage illness, home transitions, and the final months of her life. I managed daily household operations, meal preparation, documentation, space organization, medical and personal logistics, and the complex communication that arises within a multigenerational family. In the aftermath, I helped her loved ones navigate the practical responsibilities of loss—organizing her office, coordinating donations, distributing heirlooms, and preparing the home for its next chapter. Through this work, I saw how much clarity and comfort thoughtful preparation can bring, and how much pain can arise when it’s delayed. The Life Shelf exists to offer a better path. We help newly retired adults right-size, organize, and prepare their homes for the “third act” of life—creating lighter, safer spaces now while preventing stress and conflict later.
