About LIFE Theological Seminary, Ikorodu, Lagos

LIFE Theological Seminary, Nigeria (formerly LIFE Bible College) is named after LIFE Bible College, Los Angeles established in 1923 with its initials: L.I.F.E representing Lighthouse of International Foursquare Evangelism. It was founded in 1955 by the Rev. & Rev. Mrs. Harold Curtis, missionaries of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel with Headquarters in Los Angeles, California. The Curtis had experienced the revival associated with the ministry of Aimee Semple McPherson, the founder of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. Having become Foursquare Ministers, they resolved to assist in the spreading of the gospel and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit to Nigeria and beyond. From inception, the objective was for the school to be a centre for the practical development of Christian Leaders. Classes were first held at the present Campus in Ikorodu in 1958. Ever since, over 2,000 students from various Christian denominations and countries in Africa have graduated with Certificate, Diploma and Bachelors degrees in different fields of Theology offered by this Seminary. This Seminary remains indebted to several contributors and missionaries who have sacrificed time; efforts and finances in making this Seminary become forefront in Christian leadership development in Africa. LIFE Theological Seminary is sponsored by the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria.
