About Little Rose Centre

The Little Rose Centre strives to create a safe environment for children to learn and grow, empowering them to become the role models of tomorrow. Our Centre is located in Kliptown, one of the poorest areas in Soweto, South Africa. Due to poverty, difficult living conditions, and a lack of basic infrastructure, the community faces many challenges, including high unemployment, crime, drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, poor sanitation, and HIV/Aids. In the face of these challenges, our Centre provides essential services to the community. What started as a children's play group in 1993 eventually lead to Little Rose Centre being established as the first creche in Kliptown in 1997. Today, Little Rose Centre is a creche, a shelter, community soup kitchen, and a youth hub. We accommodate 140 children, 18 of whom live at the Centre, through daycare services, kindergarten classes, after school programs, daily feeding schemes, computer classes, and dance workshops. Led by a team of dedicated staff and volunteers, our Centre is driven by our passion of caring for our children.
