About Living Imaginaries

Governance reflects how we imagine the world. We change governance by changing the imaginaries that underpin it. Living Imaginaries works at the intersection of climate change, biodiversity, food, health, and justice. We approach these not as isolated challenges, but as expressions of deeper political and economic systems. Our focus is on reshaping those systems and the imaginaries that sustain them. We work with governments, councils, NGOs, international organisations, emerging sustainable finance actors, and community organisations, recognising that governance is not defined or enacted by government alone, but shaped across institutions, economies, and civic life. Our approach bridges arts and science, policy and practice to co-design and implement relational governance architectures structured around interdependence across ecosystems, communities, and economies. Based between Europe and Asia Pacific, we connect actors across geographies and political contexts, learning from places where alternatives are already alive and supporting exchange across diverse ways of knowing. For us, imagination is structural and hopeful. We support organisations to build from the futures they seek to create, rather than reacting from the crises they inherit.
