About Long Island Development Corporation (LIDC)

Since 1980, the Long Island Development Corporation (LIDC) has been dedicated to helping small businesses and nonprofits across Nassau and Suffolk counties grow, innovate, and thrive. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit development finance agency, we provide affordable small-business loans, technical assistance, and procurement support to organizations that may not qualify for traditional financing. Our lending programs — including federally and state-funded revolving loan funds such as the Long Island Defense Diversification RLF and the Long Island Fisheries Assistance RLF — offer financing up to $500,000 with rates as low as 5%. Beyond lending, LIDC helps clients become contract-ready through bid writing, certification assistance (WBE, MBE, DBE), procurement navigation, and loan readiness training. Based in Hauppauge, New York, we’re proud to strengthen the economic fabric of Long Island — empowering local enterprises, creating jobs, and building opportunities that last.
