About Lucar Asia Films

Lucar Asia Films is an independent film production house, founded by Italian actor Gianluca Zoppa together with his Co-Founder & Partner, Matias Lorieri, in Hong Kong in 2024. Lucar Asia Films is a new division of Mr Zoppa's Lucar Asia Limited, a trading company that has been operating out of Hong Kong since 2004. At Lucar Asia Films we strongly believe in uniting cultures through the universal language of film. We are dedicated to developing thought-provoking, gritty crime action and existential dramas, blending Italian and Asian cinematic cultures, with a particular emphasis on the distinctive styles of Hong Kong and Mainland Chinese cinema. Prior to the planned production of its inaugural feature film, "I don't want to be like you 我不想像你一样", Lucar Asia Films and its esteemed partners achieved considerable recognition. The studio's three short films amassed 42 prestigious awards and earned multiple nominations at renowned festivals, including the Cannes International Film Festival (Entr'2 Marches), Tokyo Film Awards, Chicago Indie Film Awards, Australia Independent Film Festival (AIFF), David Film Festival, Istanbul Film Awards, and the Hollywood International Golden Age Festival, among others.
