About LucasE3

Scott Lucas, founder of LucasE³, has worked on ethanol plant design projects for more than fifteen years and is a licensed professional engineer in most corn-producing states. After years of watching the industry struggle with outdated plant designs, he decided to create his own ethanol services company to focus on more modern and efficient methods of producing ethanol. The resulting designs offer exceptional value for greenfield plant projects, but can be adapted to existing plants to improve yield and profit margin. One example of LucasE³'s innovation is a proprietary, patent-pending process that uses waste heat recovered from the DDG dryer exhaust to drive the distillation process, resulting in far greater energy efficiency than traditional designs. This is just one design approach that differentiates LucasE³ from its competitors. LucasE³ recognizes the need in the ethanol industry for customized process engineering design and support. For EXISTING ETHANOL PLANTS, we offer our E³ Ethanol Plant Performance Assessment, which allows us to capture the needs and opportunities that would benefit your specific plant with the lowest possible investment. Our assessment and report provide a detailed description of improvement opportunities for capital investment and give plant management the freedom to increase ethanol yield, improve quality, and reduce expenses over time. For GREENFIELD PLANT PROJECTS, LucasE³ has developed a proprietary, patent-pending distillation process that will incorporate alternative energy sources, resulting in a process that is more energy-efficient than historical standard ethanol plant designs. Additionally, this new design allows plants to reduce the backset rate and dilute stillage recycling from the standard 50% to less than 20%.
