Based in the Niassa Special Reserve in northern Mozambique, the Lugenda Foundation protects the country’s most significant wildlife populations and one of its most emblematic landscapes in the Lugenda Wildlife Reserve. We safeguard wildlife through law enforcement and conservation management while strengthening the resilience of the 5,000 people who live there. Our work delivers practical, context-driven solutions tailored to the realities of this remote reserve. Grounded in more than 20 years of on-the-ground experience, we believe lasting conservation is only possible when local communities are actively involved and benefit directly from protecting their environment.
