Magnacor Therapeutics is a preclinical-stage biotech company developing first-in-class anti-infective therapies that address the overlooked microbial drivers of chronic and inflammatory diseases. While most treatments focus on downstream symptoms like inflammation, we target the root cause: persistent intracellular pathogens that evade both the immune system and standard antibiotics. These stealth infections are increasingly implicated in conditions such as atherosclerosis, arthritis, neuroinflammation, and obstetric and urogenital disorders — yet remain untreated by existing drugs. Our lead candidate is a novel, orally available small molecule that penetrates tissue, enters cells, and eliminates pathogens embedded in atherosclerotic plaque. In preclinical models, it delivers unprecedented reductions in plaque area and inflammatory markers — 10x faster than statins — without altering lipids or blood pressure. This positions our therapy as a transformative add-on for patients with high cardiovascular risk and residual inflammation. Beyond this first program, our pipeline includes additional small molecules targeting other intracellular pathogens known to drive chronic disease.
