Managers often face important moments where they have the potential to have a remarkable effect on the task, their team and the organisation. These coaching moments can happen in the blink of an eye and managers need to be able to respond reflexively to be effective and ensure the most economic use of time and energy. However, many feel overwhelmed and ill-equipped to respond in the right ways. Our learning experiences are based on insights from human language acquisition, and the latest scientific findings, not orthodoxy. There are always five elements that we incorporate into everything we do: data to bring focus to learning, bite-sized activities in the flow of work, social learning with peers, inspiration from positive role models, and real-world application rather than just cognitive overload. Having the ability to use small, precise nudges unlocks a manager’s potential to contribute to a seismic shift across the entire organisation that can transform culture, engagement and well-being.
