About Map of Life

Map of Life (MOL) advances biodiversity conservation, restoration, and monitoring by transforming complex data into actionable insights. Validated by the UN Global Biodiversity Framework, our indicators are globally recognized and formally adopted to measure progress toward safeguarding nature. As an XPRIZE Rainforest Winner, Map of Life will redefine biodiversity assessment at scale. With over a decade of research at Yale's Center for Biodiversity and Global Change, we combine world-class science and authoritative global species information with advanced technologies like acoustic monitoring, drones, eDNA, and AI-powered analytics. Our mission is to empower decision-makers across sectors to mitigate impact on ecosystems and species worldwide.
