About Maptasy Sports

Maptasy Sports is the creator of Maptasy, a new fantasy sports game that merges fantasy sports with board game strategy. Maptasy™ revolutionizes fantasy sports drafting and game play by not using the traditional list of players and teams for its draft. Rather, Maptasy’s draft board is an interactive map divided into color-coded territories based on sports team locations. Maptasy’s rules force participants to employ board-game strategy as they play. In Maptasy™ you click a territory to draft your first team or player, but that choice (and each subsequent choice) must be strategic - your next picks must be in territories adjacent to those you have already selected. You must plan several moves ahead to build your ideal team and block your opponents from building theirs. After the draft, you earn points based on how your “empire” performs under the league’s scoring system. In some Maptasy™ games you can even capture your opponents' territories as you expand your empire to win your league's championship. Maptasy Sports was formed by Mike Kuby, retired ASU Professor of Geography, Don Gibson, Professor of Practice in ASU's Selig Sports Law and Business Program, and ASU Geography PhD graduates Kevin Kane, Scott Kelley, and Dan Krahenbuhl. They are joined by CTO Philip Johnson, formerly with Amazon and Uber, and a talented team of engineers. Maptasy™ is a result of our love of fantasy sports, board games and geography, and our desire to make playing fantasy sports more fun. Maptasy™ injects fun into fantasy sports play through its unique draft concept and the strategy required to build a formidable fantasy team and conquer a league. And Maptasy™ is ideal for smaller groups from 2 to 12, even 1 vs. 1, which is rare in the fantasy sports world. Maptasy™ has been issued Patent #11,433,312 B2 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Maptasy is free to play. For more information about Maptasy, to experience Maptasy, and to create a league, please visit www.maptasy.com.
