About Mary Potter Hospice

Mary Potter Hospice exists so that every person and whānau can feel seen, supported, and cared for when they need it most. Founded in 1979, we’ve been part of the Wellington, Porirua, and Kāpiti communities for decades, walking alongside people with compassion, skill, and care. We provide specialist palliative care for people living with life-limiting illness, supporting them in our Inpatient Unit and wherever people call home. Our care looks at the whole person, supporting physical, emotional, spiritual, and whānau wellbeing, guided by the principles of Te Whare Tapa Whā. We are committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi, ensuring our care is inclusive, equitable, and responsive to the diverse communities we serve. We are a charity, built by our community. It’s the generosity of our supporters, the dedication of our volunteers, and the expertise of our clinical teams that make this work possible. Together, we make sure care remains free and accessible for all.
