About MASH (Manchester Action on Street Health)

MASH is a local charity in Greater Manchester offering friendly, non-judgemental support to women involved in sex work. At MASH we stand with women who sex work, supporting people to experience better health, safety and emotional wellbeing. Our expert team and nurse supports women via our drop-in centre and our mobile van (a specially adapted camper van which we take out onto the streets late at night) MASH provides a range of confidential services including a sexual health clinic, needle exchange, therapeutic services and life skills support. Women often tell us they feel safe, welcomed, and able to be themselves without fear of being judged. MASH staff are able to build relationships which enable us to offer long term casework support and address issues such homelessness, unmet health needs, the impacts of gender-based violence and money problems. More than 50 volunteers support our paid staff team.
