About Mashariki African Film Festival (MAAFF)

The Mashariki African Film Festival was founded to celebrate and elevate African cinema. Over the past decade, it has grown into one of the continent’s most influential cultural events, attracting filmmakers, artists, and audiences from all over Africa and beyond. Our festival is rooted in the belief that film is a powerful medium to tell the diverse and rich stories of Africa, bridging cultures and fostering understanding. Mission Our mission is to showcase the best of African talent and to provide a platform for emerging and established filmmakers to share their stories with the world. Vision We envision a world where African cinema is recognized globally, not just for its artistic quality but also for its ability to inspire change and connect people.
