About Materials In Works

Mission: To close the loop on label waste by transforming pre-consumer glassine liner waste into high-yield, upcycled cellulose pulp (RCP)—reducing Scope 3 emissions and enabling circular packaging solutions across ASEAN. Vision: To lead the transformation of the packaging and labeling industry towards a regenerative, zero-waste future—powered by science, co-creation, and a multi-stakeholder circular economy model. About Us: Materials In Works (MIW) is a circular economy venture based in Malaysia, focused on pioneering the upcycling of label liner waste—an often overlooked industrial byproduct—into sustainable packaging materials. We recover cellulose fiber from used glassine liners to create Recovered Cellulose Pulp (RCP), a high-yield, bleach-free pulp suitable for molded trays, tissue paper, and compostable packaging. Through partnerships with multinational brands, label manufactuers/converters, and academic institutions, we have built a unique ecosystem that tackles Scope 3 carbon emissions, landfill diversion, and packaging circularity—all while creating measurable social and environmental impact. 🏆 Recognitions: ✅ Shell LiveWIRE Top 10 Innovator (2025) ✅ Featured in The Edge ESG: A Big Rethink – Amplifying our voice on sustainability (2024) ✅ Appeared on Astro Awani TV – Sharing our story with the nation (2024) ✅ Malaysia Top Achievers: Sustainable Upcycling (2023) 📍Active across Malaysia, Thailand, and Japan — with showcases at Osaka World Expo 2025.
