About Maternal and Infant Health Equity Initiative (MIHEI)

Maternal and Infant Health Equity Initiative (MIHEI) is a community-based organization working to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes in underserved communities across Nigeria. We address the financial, informational, and system-level barriers that make pregnancy and childbirth unsafe for millions of women. Our work is grounded in community engagement, data-driven insights, and partnerships across the maternal health ecosystem. Since 2024, MIHEI has conducted large-scale community assessments, supported women through pregnancy and postpartum, and collaborated with local stakeholders to strengthen pathways to quality care. We believe every woman deserves timely support, trusted guidance, and access to safe and respectful maternal health services. MIHEI is committed to advancing equity, expanding access, and contributing to long-term improvements in maternal and infant well-being.
