Michelle Deanne Schultz is an art consultant, strategist & curator who has worked in public and private institutions in Canada, the US and the UK for over 10 years. She studied History of Art, Design and Visual Culture at the University of Alberta before moving to London, UK to complete an MA in Contemporary Art from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in 2010. In 2020, she earned an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She was a founding member of GALERIE8, an East London project and exhibition space, and worked with various institutions in London including Whitechapel Gallery, Ibraaz, Frieze Art Fair and Somerset House. She spent three years in Los Angeles, CA where she was Director of emerging contemporary art gallery GUSFORD and was Director of dc3 Art Projects and Bookshop in Edmonton, AB from 2015-18. She has been the Executive Director of Latitude 53, one of Canada’s oldest artist-run centres, since 2018, and a member of the Edmonton Arts Council's Public Art Committee since 2016. In 2019 she curated Bend at the Embassy of Canada Prince Takamado Gallery in Tokyo, Japan and has been a Juror for the Glenfiddich Artists in Residence Prize since 2019.
