About Medical Emergency Education Project at Berkeley
The Medical Emergency Education Project (MEEP) is a student-led initiative dedicated to empowering communities with accessible, hands-on emergency preparedness training. Originating at UC Riverside and now continuing at UC Berkeley, MEEP brings lifesaving education to local schools, community colleges, and free clinics. We host CPR and Stop the Bleed workshops, led by certified AHA instructors, where students and community members gain practical skills, confidence, and readiness to respond in emergencies. By providing in-house training equipment and lowering barriers to certification, MEEP ensures that essential health education is affordable, engaging, and inclusive. Beyond teaching lifesaving skills, our mission is to reduce health disparities, strengthen community resilience, and inspire the next generation of healthcare leaders. Every workshop transforms bystanders into potential lifesavers — making a lasting impact on both individual confidence and community preparedness.
