About MentorOn

MentorOn is an online mentoring program. BC students mentor high school students, who then mentor and facilitate groups of younger students in weekly sessions that include academic tutoring, games, and supportive conversations. The global pandemic has dramatically disrupted all of our lives, but Boston College Professor Belle Liang—and her high school-age son, Toby Ting—seized on the "interruption" to create this innovative, online peer mentoring program that engages high school, middle school, and elementary school students in genuine social connection. Launched in March 2020, the project equips high school students to advise and support their younger counterparts, with BC students (and recent graduates) serving as trainers. Together, they are creating an expanding, virtual neighborhood. #stayconnected
