About Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo Festival

Every year in late May, there’s a party on the bayou when Bayou Boogaloo comes to the shore of Bayou St. John in Mid-City, benefitting the Friends of Bayou St. John. Attendees enjoy music, entertainment, food, drink, arts & crafts. What makes this weekend special is the location on the banks of Bayou St. John. People fill the bayou and enjoy the music from boats, kayaks & inflatable watercraft. Festival-goers leisurely stroll about, grab some great New Orleans food and drink, and sit by the waterside to enjoy the scene, taking in the music of some of the city's top bands at two stages. Bayou St. John is located off the beaten path, a few miles from the French Quarter.
