About Momentum Films

Glasgow-based Momentum Films, led by experienced Producer Rakasree Basu, focuses on engaging the global audience with cross-cultural storytelling. The company’s objective emphasises converging the Scottish and the South-Asian cinematic landscape and enabling the creative economy sector to foster an empowering ecosystem for the immigrants, underrepresented and first-generation entrants, to build an equitable and accessible workspace in the screen industry. Identifying underrepresented and working-class voices from the global majority of filmmakers to craft compelling stories of human emotions, journeys and conflict, Momentum's vision is to develop unforgettable characters and unmissable voyages and give momentum to stories waiting to be told.
