About Moresby Arts Theatre

From humble beginnings in 1912, the Moresby Arts Theatre began as a small dramatic club set up by the expatriate community in Port Moresby. Since then MAT has grown remarkably to become a beacon light for the dramatic arts in Papua New Guinea. Our small theatre has played host to over 300 hundred shows, countless events and craft markets and continues to provide a culturally conscious venue for all Papua New Guineans. MAT is proud to support the arts industry in PNG and through our Youth Arts Programme and various other cultural initiatives, we continue to ensure the preservation of Papua New Guineas unique and diverse culture through the art of storytelling, music and dance. Keep up to date with our events through our facebook and instagram page @moresbyartstheatre and become a member to be apart of the MAT community!
