About National Geospatial Collaborative

The mission of the National Geospatial Collaborative (NGC) is to advance the understanding, use, and integration of geographic information systems (GIS) and associated emerging technologies by supporting geospatial professionals, organizations, and initiatives through collaborative research, education, knowledge-sharing, and strategic partnerships. NGC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists to assemble coalitions of partner organizations in pursuit of collaborative approaches to the complex challenges facing the geospatial community to drive meaningful impact across the public and private sectors. NGC exists to ensure that the geospatial community can rise to meet challenges that no single sector can solve alone. Together, we are working to boldly pursue a more effective geospatial ecosystem. In 2025, NGC formally adopted and advanced three national initiatives: 📍 Strengthening and modernizing the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) through governance pilots 📍 Advancing the National Address Database (NAD) 2.0 for nationwide, 911-validated coverage 📍Supporting State-Level NSDI Building Block Assessments to ensure foundational geospatial data is maintained and leveraged for data-driven decision-making Action Plans for each initiative can be downloaded on the NGC website at https://nationalgeospatialcollaborative.org/
