About National Read-Aloud Challenge
The National Read-Aloud Challenge is an annual nationwide initiative helping children aged 5–15 build confidence and fluency through reading aloud while tackling reading regression. Founded in 2023 by Kim Antoniou, Founder and CEO of Auris Tech, the technology behind Fonetti, the challenge is powered by Fonetti’s proprietary and multi-patented ASR technology. As part of the initiative, Fonetti provides free access to its award-winning read aloud app, making reading interactive, inclusive, and enjoyable for schools and families. With 25% of children leaving primary school unable to read to the level needed to continue their education, the challenge exists to change the status quo using evidence-led technology and joyful reading experiences. Supported by Brand Ambassador Clare Balding CBE, the challenge brings together educators, parents, and partners who believe every child deserves the confidence to find their voice. 25,000+ children supported 450,000+ reading sessions Winners celebrated at Amazon HQ
