About Nepal Nature Trust

The Nepal Nature Trust (NNT) (formerly The UK Trust for Nature Conservation in Nepal), was established in 1986 as a UK Charity, number 294838, to conserve Nepal's precious natural heritage. In the UK, the NNT raises funds, offers expert advice and contributes to a number of hand-picked projects. Whilst NNT initially solely supported the work of Nepal’s Nepal’s National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) it now also provides funds for nature conservation projects run by other organisations as well as continuing to support NTNC. Since the early 2000’s much of its work in Nepal has also been carried out alongside the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) with whom it has a long running Memorandum of Understanding. Since 2010 NNT has donated over £564,850 to a variety of projects including projects to protect Royal Benghal Tigers, Greater One Horned Rhino, Snow Leopards, human-wildlife conflict, Phd research into Gharial crocodiles and conservation education at Kathmandu Zoo.
