About New Nordics AI

New Nordics AI is a pan Nordic-Baltic initiative created to accelerate responsible AI adoption through cross-border collaboration and to deliver real value to Nordic citizens. Seed funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers, we exist to serve the public good. Our mission is to ensure AI strengthens sustainable, inclusive, and resilient societies across the Nordics and Baltics, grounded in shared Nordic values of trust, openness, equality, and long-term stewardship. We unite national AI ecosystems, research organisations, companies, governments, and decision-makers to enable collaboration and scale that no single country can achieve alone. By reducing fragmentation and aligning expertise, infrastructure, and policy insight, we help build regional competitiveness and strategic autonomy in AI. Sustainability is a core lens in everything we do — from advancing responsible and transparent AI governance, to supporting AI applications that contribute to climate action, social resilience, and economic transition. We actively bridge policy, technology, and practice to ensure AI is human-centric, ethical, and future-ready. Through multi-stakeholder initiatives, regulatory collaboration, and cross-sector innovation projects, New Nordics AI strengthens the Nordic-Baltic voice internationally — shaping AI not just as a technology, but as a driver of shared prosperity and societal well-being.
