About New Wales / Cymru Newydd
Promoting innovative and aspirational policy ideas, from diverse perspectives and providing a positive vision of our future Wales. An initiative for Wales. More than ever we, the citizens of Wales, need intensive and purposeful discussions as a nation to map our own future. Wales is the poorest nation in the United Kingdom. This can only change through our own efforts - history and experience show that progress and positive transformation are rarely delivered for us by others. It is inevitable that the constitutional settlement of the existing Union Wales has with England, Scotland and Northern Ireland will change. We, the people of Wales, must consider our relationship with and within the current state so that we can choose our own future. With the report of the constitutional commission for Wales, published in January 2024, as a foundation, New Wales / Cymru Newydd is building on the results and the work done under the stewardship of Dr Rowan Williams and Professor Laura McAllister. The report put forward a number of possible options for Wales in the future and our work expands on this through research, ideas, lively and open debates. We would like to invite you to be part of our efforts. Melin drafod newydd i Gymru yw Cymru Newydd. Mae dyfodol Cymru a ffawd ei phobol yn rhy bwysig. Hoffwn eich gwahodd i fod yn rhan o’r ymdrech.
