About New Zealand Climate Foundation | Whakatere i te Āhuarangi

The New Zealand Climate Foundation | Whakatere i te Āhuarangi is an independent, philanthropically funded organisation accelerating rapid and material emissions reductions in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our mission is to unlock at least 100 million tonnes of emissions reductions by 2035 from New Zealand’s emissions profile. We focus on measurable, high-impact interventions. The New Zealand Climate Foundation operates through three interconnected pillars: • Activating proven climate solutions • Mobilising strategic philanthropic capital • Strengthening system conditions and safeguarding integrity and ambition. We are non-partisan and evidence-led. We work across government, business, finance, and civil society to align capital, policy, and delivery around interventions that reduce emissions at scale. This decade will define New Zealand’s emissions trajectory. The solutions are known. What matters now is pace, coordination, and disciplined execution. That is our role.
