About Nightingale Mentoring Network

Malmö University The Nightingale mentoring network was formed in 2010 in Malmö and is a network for cities/Universities in Europe using the Nightingale mentoring concept. The Nightingale concept was born in 1997 in Malmö and since start more than 4000 children and students have participated in Malmö, Sweden. The Nightingale program has now been spread to 24 different Universities and cities and all are connected to The Nightingale mentoring network and have regular meetings and Conferences. www.nightingalementoring.org The network provides several benefits to its members; above all constitutes a favorable forum for deeper pedagogical discussions and research based on mentoring between University students and children. This provides all participants an opportunity to exchange experience within the area of mentoring and also within The Nightingale and its philosophical and pedagogical content. The Nightingale Mentoring network is constituted by its members. A board consisting of three cities is setting the agenda for each year. The executive manager of Nightingale Malmö is the leading part. The Network members gather at an annual meeting, arranged in one of the member cities. The host of the meeting also arranges an annual conference on mentoring. For universities who are interested in using the concept and starting up a new Nightingale project, membership in the new network is a requirement.
