About Nkuringo Safaris

Nkuringo Safaris is a Ugandan-owned, woman-led luxury safari company and destination management company (DMC) designing and running mid-range to high-end luxury, private gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, walking adventures, and wildlife safaris across Uganda and Rwanda, with extensions into Kenya and Tanzania. Since 2007, we have helped travelers and outbound safari operators plan East Africa safaris with knowledgeable advice, expert local support, and dependable delivery on the ground. We manage permits, route planning, accommodation, guiding, transfers, and day-to-day logistics in-house, so every safari is shaped around the traveler, the terrain, and the realities of the route. Our roots are in Bwindi, where Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge began the story. That story is continuously growing through our sister brand, Nkuringo Eco Collection, which protects and delivers our luxury hospitality, conservation, and sustainability promise in Uganda. Our background still shapes how we work today, with strong local knowledge, luxury lodging, realistic pacing, good guiding, and careful attention to the details that make a safari run well. We work with couples, families, photographers, solo travelers, small private groups, and trade partners who want a reliable local operator in East Africa. Alongside our wider operations, we support responsible travel, local livelihoods, and long-term stewardship in the landscapes where we work through Gorilla Junction Foundation (gorillajunction.org) and the Robert Brierley Community Center in the south of Bwindi.
