About North Sydney Symphony Orchestra (NSSO)
Established in 1947, the North Sydney Symphony Orchestra (NSSO) is the longest-running orchestra on Sydney’s North Shore. Founded by Dr Alan Bellhouse AM and composer Dulcie Holland, the orchestra was created to provide student and amateur musicians the opportunity to develop orchestral skills and engage with the rich classical repertoire. Today, NSSO continues its tradition of musical excellence, presenting high-quality, affordable concerts and supporting talented local soloists. Proudly backed by the North Sydney Council, we remain a cornerstone of the community’s cultural life.
