About Northeastern Pennsylvania Council, Scouting America

Northeastern PA Council of Scouting America serves youth (now both boys AND girls!) in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne & Wyoming Counties with the 115-year proven path to a lifelong journey of Character Development, Leadership and Citizenship. We teach Scouts to live the 12 points of the Scout Law, becoming Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent — and develop values that create the most curious, thoughtful, and caring humans on the planet! 🇺🇸 🌎 Scouting is learning through having fun and exploring the outdoors while making memories for a lifetime! Adventures in camping, hiking, fishing, archery, hatchet-tossing, sailing, ATV-ing, and more await at our two Council Camps— Camp Acahela https://www.acahela.org/ Goose Pond Scout Reservation http://gpsr.nepabsa.org/ We recruit our region’s finest community leaders—and rigorously and continuously train, screen, and clear our adults—to create an all-volunteer roster of NEPA Scouting coordinators, counselors, and faculty to deliver all programs, including 138 unique and diverse Merit Badge topics, in a safe environment for Scouts to learn, explore, and grow. Whether you educate, create, build, lead, serve a nonprofit, practice a trade or profession, or own a business, please consider sharing your expertise with our Scouts — as you may just be the spark that leads a youth to their chosen future vocation or profession! PLEASE JOIN US in helping build the character of NEPA youth! Youth ages 6-20 may register for a Scouting program, and Adults ages 21+ may apply to serve. At a price of less than $10/month to join, Scouting is truly a hidden gem among youth community activities and organizations—it is truly an investment that pays dividends for a lifetime.
