About Northern Gateway (NGX)

There are many industrial parks. Few are located where trade actually happens. Northern Gateway Sdn Bhd (NGX) was established to change that. NGX is the master developer of Delapan, a 4,400-acre Special Border Economic Zone located at Bukit Kayu Hitam along the Malaysia–Thailand trade corridor. The development sits on an active cross-border route where goods, capital, and supply chains already move every day, connecting maritime Southeast Asia with mainland ASEAN. Positioned along one of the region’s key trade corridors, Delapan builds on a long-standing cross-border relationship where trade, logistics, and industry have moved between Malaysia and Thailand for decades. In an environment where supply chain resilience and security are becoming as important as efficiency, location is no longer a secondary consideration. It is the strategy. Delapan is designed as an integrated industrial and logistics ecosystem, where manufacturing, logistics infrastructure, cross-border trade, and connectivity are planned and developed together from the ground up. The objective is clear: to reduce friction in the movement of goods, support industrial expansion, and strengthen the reliability of regional supply chains. When the vision for Delapan first began, there were few believers and many sceptics. Today, with growing participation from industrial operators, logistics players, and institutional partners, Delapan is steadily emerging as a new node in Southeast Asia’s evolving trade landscape. NGX continues to advance this vision with a long-term commitment to building infrastructure that connects markets, supports industry, and anchors economic activity along Malaysia’s northern trade corridors.
