About Northside Christian Church, Yorktown VA

MISSION & VISION: KNOW JESUS - The deeper our knowledge of Jesus becomes, the more natural and instinctive our efforts in His name will be. Our knowledge of Jesus and a grace-filled life will motivate us to share His love with others. We strive to know Him passionately as our Savior, to know Him as the One who shows us how to live by grace, and to know Him through participation in His story by taking up our own cross each day. The more we know Him, the more likely He is to be known by others when they see Him in our lives. LOVE PEOPLE - In an unforgiving world, when we show the grace and love of Jesus in our words and actions toward others, people notice and Jesus is lifted up. By loving people no matter what their sins, problems, or disposition, we are able to live with a constant sense of gratitude for the grace and mercy we have received in Jesus, who showers his grace upon us regardless of our past, and in spite of our habit of continuing to sin. SERVE BOTH - At Northside, we serve the Lord as our ultimate authority, and we serve people as we make disciples. Jesus doesn't call us to do one thing or the other, but both. We must continue to grow in our knowledge of and obedience to Christ so we don't lose our saltiness. And we must have a dynamic place where we interact with our world because we are the "salt of the earth". (Matthew 5:13). The mission and vision of the church is not an exact science where we know all things at all times, or always have tangible evidence of what God is doing and with whom. But we know that when we know Jesus and we love our world, change takes place, because, Hope Changes Everything.
