About Northwest Hydraulic Consultants

As the effects of climate change advance across the world, understanding water and its many functions in both natural and built environments has never been more urgent. The experts at Northwest Hydraulic Consultants Ltd. (NHC) are here to help clarify the challenges and design solutions to resolve them. Our highly skilled team of engineers, scientists, and technical specialists deliver technical expertise and results across a broad range of water resource disciplines. We are committed to developing effective solutions for issues related to water and earth processes in both freshwater and coastal environments. NHC is different. Founded in 1972, NHC is an independent, employee-owned company with a horizontal structure. Our sole focus is to design and implement location-specific solutions to resolve both legacy and emerging water resource issues in rapidly changing geographies. Many of our early employees are still with us today; their long tenure is testament to our commitment to our people, our clients, and the projects we are entrusted to support. As we continue to grow and evolve, we remain committed to the independent culture that has shaped our consulting practice over the past 50 years. Today, NHC offers more than 250 dedicated employees based out of 14 offices in Canada, the US, Asia, and South America. Our physical hydraulic modelling operations are the largest in western North America and remain instrumental in our ability to test and refine location-specific approaches to every solution we design.
