About Obuyisi bw'Omu Initiative

Obuyisi bw’Omu Initiative (OBI) is a community-driven nonprofit organisation in Uganda working to co-create solutions with youth, families and communities. We exist to address some of the most pressing challenges of our time: mental health stigma, unsafe water and poor sanitation, barriers to education, and the growing impact of climate change. At OBI, we believe lasting change comes from within. That’s why our programs are designed hand in hand with local leaders and young people, empowering communities to take ownership of their future. From youth-led mental health campaigns and clean water projects, to educational support and climate-smart innovations, every initiative we run is carried forward by the people themselves, because true change lasts when it connects local action to global hope. Our work is guided by four values — Integrity, Accountability, Dynamism and Equity — ensuring that every action builds trust, impact and hope. We partner with individuals, organisations and institutions that share our vision of a Uganda where every child, family and community can thrive. Together with donors and changemakers, we are shaping healthier, stronger and more resilient communities across the country.
