The Office of the Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia (OAG FRS) is an independent supreme audit institution established under Somalia's Constitution to safeguard accountability, transparency, and integrity in the management of public resources. The OAG provides independent oversight over the use of public funds by auditing the accounts of government institutions, constitutional bodies, public enterprises, and any entity that receives funding from the state. Through its reports, the Office ensures that public resources are managed lawfully, efficiently, and in the best interest of Somali citizens. In line with its mandate, the Auditor General audits and reports on the financial statements of federal government entities, federal member states, local authorities, and other institutions as required by law. The OAG also plays a central role in strengthening public financial management, promoting good governance, and building trust between citizens and government.
