About Office of the Ombudsman Ireland

The Office of the Ombudsman, Ireland, examines complaints concerning the administrative actions of Government Departments, the Health Service Executive (including public hospitals) and local authorities. The Ombudsman may also investigate complaints concerning compliance by public bodies and some other bodies with Part 3 of the Disability Act 2005. The Ombudsman is independent, impartial and provides a free service.
