OHARA INC. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of glass materials for optical and electronic equipment. The Company operates in two business segments. The Optics segment is engaged in the manufacturing and sales of products for optical products such as optical glass materials and lens materials for optical equipment. The Electronics segment is engaged in the manufacturing and sales of products for electronics products such as highly homogeneous glass for semiconductor exposure equipment, extremely low expansion glass ceramics and quartz glass.

Founded in 1941 by Jinpachi Ohara.
