About Oil & Protein Seeds Development Trust

Oil & Protein Seeds Development Trust (OPDT) is a leading non-governmental organisation that promotes and develops the Oil Seeds Industry of South Africa. We are an independent body that stays actively involved in our community to improve the production, storage, processing, and marketing of Oil Seeds (sunflower, soybean, canola, and groundnuts) through the financing of research projects and provision of information and advisory services as well as market access and any further conduct in the interest of the Oil Seeds Industry. OPDT strives to conserve the Assets of the Trust and utilize them to increase the value in real terms. We also aim to create awareness around the true position of the Oil Seeds Industry and achieve these objectives in accordance with the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act, no 47 of 1996.
