Ola Rondiak is an American born artist with strong Ukrainian roots and culture. Rondiak's works weave her family’s history along with Ukraine’s history in a contemporary fashion in the form of sculptures, paintings and clothing that has garnered her distinctive style international recognition. Living in Ukraine for the past 30 years and raising three children there, Ola has experienced, first hand, the strength, bravery, and resilience of the Ukrainian nation. Inspired by the historic revolutions she lived through and her grandmother's experiences in a post WWII “strict regime” Russian labor camp, otherwise known as a gulag, Ola's art reflects Ukraine's century-long struggle for freedom. Rondiak’s artwork, often described as "contemporary art with a historical conscience" is characterized by intricate details and a deliberate incorporation of her rich cultural and historical background.
