About Open Palaeontology
Open Palaeontology is an ethical and flexible international Diamond Open Access journal promoting peer-reviewed open science in the field of palaeontology. We publish research that advances knowledge and methodologies across all aspects of palaeontology. We welcome the submission of articles on any topic related to palaeontological research. This includes, but is not limited to, taxonomic descriptions of new fossil taxa, palaeobiology, palaeoecology, taphonomy, palaeontology database creation, biostratigraphy, micropalaeontology, palaeobotany, education in palaeontology, and the societal applications of palaeontological research. We provide a flexible publication platform that allows the authors to choose the best format for their manuscript and to present their work at all stages of the scientific process. This is intended to increase transparency throughout the academic research process. In addition to standard Research Articles, we offer other formats such as Hypotheticals, Pre-registered Research Protocols, Reviews and Comments. We also encourage the submission of multimedia articles where research is presented in audio and/or visual formats.
